Native Woodland Restoration Project
Last week we hosted an independent film maker on the Estate to capture some footage of our current progress with our Mamore and Killiechonate native woodland restoration project. One day was spent out across the Mamore hills and up at the Blackwater reservoir with Head Stalker Cameron Loudon and under stalker Blair Nicholson. Footage was captured of them explaining their role as stalkers and how they manage their deer herds, woodlands and public access across such a huge area of mountainous and moorland terrain. Also interviewed was Head of Estates Strategy and Development Ruaridh Macdonald, and he focused his narrative on why we are undertaking the project and what the expected outcomes will be, both for Alvance and JAHAMA but also for our key neighbouring landowners and the wider public.
